Childhood Memories.

80cm x 50cm

Acrylic on cradled board

Childhood memories are often incomplete, vague, and ambiguous – a sketch. How I feel about this painting depends on my mood when I see it. Is the mother absent? Or is it that the focus here is the child’s intense hold?

Originally I called this ‘Motherless Child’, after a track I love by Richie Havens. But on reflection, I felt that this didn’t capture the duality of emotion that was felt or intended.

This piece is very heavy, and as such might be expensive to send by courier. Contact me if interested.
